This is my first time participating in a photo challenge but I immediately knew what I wanted to write after reading the guidelines. Here is the post:
This week, in a post created specifically for this challenge, show us an image that says REFLECTION.
It could be a person who helps you see things clearly, a place you go to collect your thoughts, or an object that reminds you of your achievements. You could also go for something more literal, like a reflection in water. Or something that demonstrates both interpretations of the word, as I’ve done in this shot. — Ben
The photos below were taken on the grounds of Codrington College, an Anglican theological college located in St. John, Barbados.

The main highlight is a beautiful lily covered pond complete with lots of fish, which you are allowed to feed. There are benches dotted strategically about the grounds where you can enjoy the ducks, the fish and a magnificent view out to the ocean.

The college has been a tourist attraction for many years but I only appreciated its natural beauty in April 2009 when my mum died. My young son, his dad and I needed to rest a bit after her funeral, and decided to take a drive out into the country. We randomly turned into the college off of the main road and ended up spending most of the day enjoying the stately grandeur of tall palm trees, flowering trees and still mirror-like water with large colourful fish swimming just beneath its surface. It was amazing how our minds and bodies were healed as we slowly walked around the grounds while remembering my mum’s full but too short life.
Now, whenever I need to get away from it all or take some time to reflect on where I’m going in my own life, it has become the perfect place for a time-out; I’m sure you’ll see why.
