Want to be Independent, Stable, and Successful? Get Married.

I agreed initially that the concept of becoming independent through marriage was ‘completely ridiculous’ – at first glance. How could that really work? Being independent while married didn’t seem to gel somehow but after reading on, I can definitely see the connection .
As a divorce statistic, one of the areas missing in my marriage was a lack of support for my dreams and goals – not only for me but moreso from me. Maybe this missing link is one of the things that result in affairs and divorce: not getting the support or by extension the love we need from our spouse which can cause us to look for these things from others. The ability to love and be loved is one of the greatest gifts God will ever give us. Let’s work on not only receiving love but in giving it – especially to our spouses. And while we’re working hard at loving more, let’s spread the word and make our world an even better place. It can be done 🙂

Independence in Marriage You can become independent through marriage? Sounds completely ridiculous, doesn’t it? Well, it’s absolutely true. But sadly, modern culture has embraced the insidious lie of self-sufficiency.

The truth is that if you want to have stability, strength, and success in your life, then you need to form loving, committed relationships. There’s just no getting around that need. Pure and honest love and acceptance is as vital to our well-being as oxygen. Love and support fills us with the necessary confidence to accomplish great things. And marriage can be one of the most powerful suppliers of love and support.
