“Many people believe holding on and hanging in there, infinitely, are signs of incredible strength. But there are times when it takes much more strength to know when to let go, and then to actually do it.”
I wasn’t sure if I agreed with this opening totally. My mum had taught me during the years she remained with my dad that ‘holding on and hanging in there’ were definitely signs of strength. You sucked it up and got on with life but there were times I felt there had to be more to her life. And what about those other ‘times’? Is it ok to hold on when your boss is treating you disrespectfully for an extended period of time? Is it ok to hang in there when your co-worker keeps stabbing you in the back? How strong is strong? And for how long should you stay strong?
There are 6 strong signs however which do confirm when it’s time for you to let go and move on with your life. - Someone constantly expects you to be someone you’re not.
- A person’s actions don’t match their words.
- You have a habit of moping and feeling sorry for yourself.
- You’re clutching tight to an easy-street mentality.
- You truly dislike your current situation.

Great Post! Our sense of intuition if we are also true to ourselves never lie when we sense something is not right or this is not acceptable behaviour. We are humans and fail others at some point but when constant we need to run.

What have I learnt since posting this one year ago today? That the lesson is the same: you’ve got to know when it’s time to let go – especially if you’ve been holding on for way too long.
Letting go makes space for better things to come into our lives. It brings us peace and best of all, it makes us stronger than ever before.
Still not sure? Check out these 6 signs … then decide. Good luck!
