“And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” Matthew 21:22
Found the page above which was taken from my devotional for August 8 to be a good example of prayer vs. faith … but what do you think? Do you agree with this thought? Or would you have used something different?
And then there’s this post I came across recently entitled “The Bible isn’t like a menu at a restaurant. It’s all or nothing.” on The Living To Please God blog … hmmmm; makes for interesting reading for sure. Here’s a short excerpt:
“We weren’t given the gift of the Bible to pluck sections out of it that work for us and dismiss the rest as fantasy. If you believe, you believe. All or nothing.” Click to read more …
What’s your take? Would love to hear your views on prayer and faith, but until then, let’s be encouraged as we remember Jesus’ words in Luke 7:50 – “And he said to the woman, Your faith has saved you; go in peace” 🙂
I think prayer is an act of faith. We have never seen God — at least I haven’t — and yet we pray to Him because we believe in His words. We believe and hope that we will answer us. I think both prayer and faith works hand in hand because we can’t pray without having faith– it won’t work. And we can’t say we have faith without praying to God, the source and center of our faith.
Hope this makes sense. And thanks for sharing. Have a blessed, faithful and prayerful day 🙂

Thanks for taking the time to comment and I think you have hit the nail on the head: prayer and faith work hand in hand BUT I still think that a lot of us pray without really believing that what we are praying for is going to happen i.e. we ain’t gots no faith! Let’s keep on praying and having faith … because God loves us. Be blessed 🙂

Beautifully said. I think faith is something we have deep inside, even if we are not aware of its presence, it stays there. We pray to make that inner faith palpable… to ourselves… 🙂

This is so very true and it’s important we hold on to that inner faith as much as possible.
