“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39 (NIV)

Distress. It’s a strong word which also means suffering, pain, sorrow, anguish, agony, grief. When someone tells you they are distressed it usually means that whatever they are going through is of monumental proportions (unless they are drama kings, queens or children). I know, because I’ve “been there and done that”. Sometimes these situations overwhelm us so much that it’s hard to know which way is up or down. We become upset, confused and anxious; every little thing and everyone bothers us. But that’s the exact time, that moment where you are about to give up and let the waves of despair totally cover you, that you call out to God because He will not only hear you, He will answer you. Give it a try. God is waiting to hear from you … now.
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” Romans 12:12 (NIV)
