Parenting is never easy. Whether it’s one or two or three children, your authority is challenged, your patience worn thin and words you know you should not use spill out of your mouth and into the atmosphere – seemingly just like that. Some days you think your mind is going to explode out of your head and you acknowledge that if you have to tell that child to clean his or her room one more time one of you is going to die.
Sometimes, just to get a moment’s peace or execute a monumental task with less stress, we decide in desperation to stretch the truth … only a little bit … well, ok, maybe a lot. But even so, that’s why I related so much to a funny but true post about the things we tell our children.
Written by Laura A. Lord, it’s entitled: Top Nine Ways You’re A Liar Mom and offers a few examples of the things we tell our children from time to time (and what’s going on in our minds when we tell them). Enjoy the truth of her words and after you have laughed while nodding your head in agreement, pass this on to another mom or dad – because sometimes it’s just a matter of doing what we have to do to get by 🙂

I’m so glad you enjoyed it and that I was able to bring some humor and a smile your way. It really is “just a matter of doing what we have to do to get by”. Survival mechanism 😀
