When you think you have been forgotten …

“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!”  Isaiah 49:15 (NIV)

God's love for His children
My mummy with my sister (long pants) and I (shorts) – she would never ever forget us!

When nothing is going right

Do you feel sometimes as though God has forgotten you? Those may be the days when in spite of your planning and great preparation nothing goes right. Through no fault of your own you may miss a project deadline, be caught in traffic and end up being late for work, or have so many things on your To Do list you can’t even think straight. Then there are other situations which crop up involving our children, our co-workers, our family, our friends; it doesn’t seem to ever stop and you feel like a hamster struggling to keep up on the ever spinning wheel of life.

The devil is a liar

In the same way a mother cannot forget her baby, God has not forgotten you.  <— Click to Tweet this!  The devil wants you to think that He has so that you can become depressed and anxious to such an extent that you believe his lies dressed subtly as truths. Romans 8:37 tells us: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”  God loves us as His children, and just as a mother does not forget her offspring so will He always remember us and be there for us.

Satan knows that God:

  • Will provide for us – in the fullness of time (His time not ours)
  • Is our all-seeing Father and protector
  • Knows what will happen and what we will do long before we even have a clue
  • Is always true to those  who are true to Him

The real question however is this: do YOU know what the devil knows?

Heads up – make that call!

I encourage you; no, rather I urge you to keep the faith, to hold on (to God) and to let go (of the things He needs you to release).  Do not ever give up!  Because God will never ever give up on YOU!
