Starlight Blogger Award :)

Starlight Blogger Award

I admit to not being online much lately and as a result didn’t even realise I had been nominated for the Starlight Blogger award (created to help highlight and promote inspirational bloggers and their blogs) by NickysdayWithAutism.  Even though I am days late, I so want to thank her for not only nominating me but for being a regular reader of my posts (which she thinks are inspirational – go Nicky!).

Here are the RULES:

  • Thank the person that nominated you and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 3 questions that are given to you.
  • Pass the award on to 6 or more other bloggers of your choice and let them know that they have been nominated.
  • Include the logo of the award on your blog, please never alter the logo and never change the rules.

Here are the questions Nicky asked of me:

What is your favorite vacation destination?

Believe it or not, I’d have to say my island home Barbados. That’s because there are so many creative things to do and so many beautiful places to visit; I never get tired of being a local ‘tourist’ every year.

Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone (not text)?

The last person I spoke to on the phone was my teenage son Nathan (of course). He was checking in on me … and then wanted to know what time I was going to be getting home from work so he could borrow the car to go out with his girlfriend. Guess it’s another form of love …

What is the name of the last book you read?

Loved this question the most because the very last book I read (coincidentally so seeing as how this nomination was by NickyB) was Paper in the Wind: Autism in the wake of tragedy (Kindle Edition) written by Olivia Mason-Charles.  As it says on Amazon, this was “a compassionate and riveting story depicting a single father’s dedication to his daughter. In the midst of the overwhelming struggles that accompanied autism, he continues to persevere. Her father’s love enabled her to overcome insurmountable obstacles, discovered the power of love and embraced the gift of life.” I have been learning a lot about autism lately and salute all parents of autistic children aka this short emotionally riveting book is definitely a must read, along with another written by my personal friend Rosanne Small-Morgan: “Situation Zane: Autism … who knew?”

Your Turn

And now, my nominees (there is no pressure – I’m just honoring your inspirational words):

Reflections For My Soul

Walter Bright

Living the Seasons

Grieving Gumdrops

Moments with Millie

Jackie Jones

And my 3 questions for these inspiring bloggers are:

  1. What was the most life changing moment in your life?
  2. How did someone unexpectedly help you just when you desperately needed it most?
  3. Where do you find your inspiration to write?

Can’t wait to read all about you!  Thanks again for the nomination NickyB aka you rock!!!

  1. Thank you for the nomination. I will do my best to complete it in the next couple of days.

After your home country of Barbados what is the next favorite place to visit?
