“In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.” Psalm 5:3 (NIV)

Do you know what the problem is with this verse? Waiting is super hard. It’s like how long do I have to wait to find cash for my house repairs or to service my car or even do some extra studying? How long do I have to keep saying the same things over and over to Nathan? How long will I continue to be embarrassed by this constant menopause sweating? Are you hearing me Lord? Are you feeling my pain? No, but seriously …
David was a strong man (well, he was strong until Bathsheba came into the picture). He praised God during the good times and extra praised Him during the really bad times. Whether enjoying the light or shaking in the dark, David always put God first and trusted that He would take care of him at all times, especially when it came to protection from enemies. Most important of all, I think David was a professional when it came to waiting expectantly on God.
We know God hears us even though it may not look that way. We know He is there for us not only during the morning but also at noon and evening times. What we don’t know is if we can truly hold on until our requests become reality.
Waiting is hard but I am going to try to learn a thing or two from David … who’s with me?
“Patience is not simply the ability to wait – it’s how we behave while we’re waiting.” Joyce Meyer
I’m with you. Waiting is the most difficult part…but there can be joy in the waiting if we let God handle it.

Dear Nicky, agreed! I find though that we sometimes give our problems to God and then take them back; this makes it just that much harder for Him to handle it.
