Here for a time such as this

When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai, he sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Esther 4:12-14 (NIV)

Have you ever had a D-day? Whether anticipated or not, they are not fun … and I would know. I’ve had my fair share of drama as I struggled to keep my head above the waters of Divorce, Downsizing and Death of loved ones.

Actually, I really hate the letter “D”.  During the tough times, I would exist feeling immensely depressed, disgusted and disappointed. Living took way too much effort; I was permanently tired – mentally, physically, spiritually.

Was it easy for me? No! Did it seem as though life was totally hopeless? Yes! Every single day over and over and over I questioned myself: “Why God why was this happening to me?”

Yet God knew what He was doing. The lessons were amazingly hard but I wouldn’t change what I learnt for anything because I’m definitely more today than I was yesterday.

As I move on day by day, moment by moment, I honestly don’t think I am super special or a hot shot or anything like that. I’m merely a weary traveller trying desperately to make it to the end of the journey.

But here’s the thing:

  1. Has God miraculously brought you safely through a time of very hot fire?
  2. Is there any part of your life story you might wish to share?
  3. Can you through an experience encourage someone to hold on; to give them a little hope when life looks hopeless?
  4. Do you have a special bible verse that you repeat over and over again simply because it brings you great comfort?

I acknowledge that my story may not be your story but EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US HAS A STORY and it’s by sharing we show we are caring. Let’s see how many of us are willing to step out and leave a comment or two along with a link to their blog/special post – because who knows? Just like Queen Esther, you could be here for a time such as this.

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.” Luke 4:18 (NIV)
