Another year, another birthday. Yet 12 months later I continue to be so very grateful to be above ground! There is much in my life to appreciate but as you get older it’s the little things that stand out most: spending quality time with family, finding quiet moments to rejuvenate, putting things in place as you realise you have less time here instead of more.
I’ve gotten more stamps in my passport as I continued to travel the world; I’ve grown, I’ve matured, I’ve made ends meet even as the points in between grew wider and wider. I’m still working on hearing and not immediately responding i.e. taming this little fire in my head known as a tongue. I’m learning to be calmer instead of flying off the handle. I’m accepting that hot flashes take a long time to stop flashing and I will need to keep walking with a large fan (and lots of tissues) in my handbag. I’m hoping that sooner rather than later, I can truly walk away from things which aren’t urgent and move positively towards those which are life-important.
Worried about getting older? Don’t be! Older in most cases is better (well, that’s my story and I’m sticking with it). And so, this is happy birthday to me! It’s going to be another fantabulously awesome year of love and laughter filled with God’s richest blessings – I dare you to prove me wrong đŸ™‚
