When you think you have been forgotten …

“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!”  Isaiah 49:15 (NIV)

When nothing is going right

Do you feel sometimes as though God has forgotten you? Those may be the days when in spite of your planning and great preparation nothing goes right. Through no fault of your own you may miss a project deadline, be caught in traffic and end up being late for work, or have so many things on your To Do list you can’t even think straight. Thankful for birthdays :)

“Every year on your birthday, you get a chance to start new.” Sammy Hagar

Today I am thankful that age, especially this particular age, is nothing more than a number 🙂 Tweet this!

Today I am thankful for having existed on this sweet green earth for 50 years; others I know have not made it.

Today I am thankful for my job, my family, my friends; there are many who have none of these while struggling to make ends meet.

Today I am thankful for general good health and a body which does what I want it to do most of the time; be happy if you still have all of your senses and limbs!

Today I am thankful that with God’s help I survived downsizing, divorce and death of loved ones; life for many during these trials can end in depression or suicide.

Today I am just thankful that I can be thankful; gratitude is important along with humility because pride always goes before a fall.

Guess what I am really saying is: I made it!

Happy Birthday to me 🙂

With Life Comes Hope & Blessings

“The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.” Deuteronomy 28:12 (NIV)

It’s that time …

We usually take a long hard look at ourselves and our lives at the beginning of a new year. January 01 rolls around and out come the planners, journals or online schedulers to be filled with our resolutions for the next 12 months. However, some of us find it hard to get started.  We are filled with regret for dreams shelved not to be realised, depressed due to being out of work or having lost a loved one, wondering how we will pay our educational/medical bills, or just trying to stay afloat for one more day.

On the other side of this coin are those of us who know that no matter what life may look like right now, there is the ever present knowledge that ‘this too shall pass”! Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, lasts forever; the good times come and go (kind of unfortunate but it’s a fact), and so will the bad times.  Life is circle folks and you are either up on the top or down at the bottom BUT the circle will turn! Click to tweet

The future is bright

As we look out to 2015 with hopes for renewal, reinvention and ground-breaking awesome change in our lives, let us hold on to these facts:

  • where there is life there is hope
  • where there is friendship and family there is love
  • where there is God there is peace

May this year be even more than you could ever possibly wish it to be … the rains of prosperity are coming 🙂
