Between Life – Weekly Photo Challenge

I think we can easily spend a lot of time ‘between’ life i.e. between decisions, between flights, between the passing of time.  It can be intentional or a situation where we have no choice.

This week’s photo challenge required us to share a photo that said ‘between’ and after a little ‘between thoughts’ here are my submissions.

I visited the city of Beijing in China two weeks ago.  My itinerary of almost 20 hours to and another 20 hours from this place where we find the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City (another post), took me from Barbados to London to Amsterdam to Beijing and back.  Between connecting flights, I came across this beautifully unique cafe at the airport in Amsterdam – truly a novel way to dine and have ‘tea’.

Sometimes we have to sit it out between life, whether we like it or not.  Here are two photos of my son who is a national athlete, representing Barbados in the sport of judo (and he is very very good – also another post).  I took these pictures as he waited between matches during a recent international competition.

Last but not least, the photo below highlights the most important thought of all i.e. between family.  This is a picture of my beloved aunt who is suffering from Alzheimer’s, taken as we shared in the celebration of her birthday earlier this year.  We were between feeling sad for her and the pain she is in, and feeling happy that she is still with us.

So how did I do?  Was I able to successfully illustrate ‘between’?  Leave a comment and tell me 🙂
