It happened one day …

??????????????A man of God spoke to his co-workers on Friday evening of one week but never made it to work the following Monday.  He took ill and died suddenly on the Saturday night.  Everyone was in shock.  How could this be?  And not him of all people!

Most of all, they regretted not being able to thank him for being a great friend, a committed team player and a caring, thoughtful supervisor.  It was too late.  He would never know how much they appreciated having him in their lives, never hear the words of the many tributes offered on his behalf or enjoy the rich notes of the songs which were sung at his funeral.  Continue reading Now or later? 5 Tips on How to be Your Own Bestfriend ;-)

Girlfriends for life!

Good friends can be hard to find. Let me rephrase that: good genuine stick-by-you-no-matter-what friends are hard to find. I don’t have a lot of friends but the few that I do have are loyal, loving, brutally honest and dependable. But I have noticed that although it may be easier to be a good friend to others, it’s much harder to be a good friend to yourself.

Thank you Lord!

WordPress Daily Prompt – Thank You: The internet is full of rants. Help tip the balance: today, simply be thankful for something (or someone).

It was as if this prompt above was sent out just for me.

Maybe because it’s easy for most of us to be ungrateful, but who wouldn’t be if all they had to look forward to was a stressful job with difficult co-workers, family members and kids who seemingly go out of their way to challenge us, and bills which multiply exponentially every day?  And let’s not even talk about having to sit in long lines of traffic to and from work five days a week …

All of the above may be true, but as I listen closely to the news from around the world, I am thankful that this little space in the Caribbean where I live is generally peaceful, and a place where people can live their lives without the fear of terrorism or chemical warfare.

As my friends in far away lands begin to comment on experiencing “much cooler weather” I am thankful that my “rock” is devoid of harsh winters, enabling me to enjoy beautiful beaches with golden sand all year round.

Most important of all though, I am thankful that God has blessed me with a job to pay my bills, a car to get me to and fro, a home of my own; and the icing on my blessing cake: the love of a truly wonderful son, super fab family (well, most of the time anyway) and some really great friends.

So is my life perfect? Certainly not!  Yet there is definitely reason to say: Thank you Lord for blessing me with so much goodness!  So what are you thankful for today? I am sure if you think hard enough, you can do like me and come up with something.
