Even if it doesn’t look that way, we are all blessed in one way or another. That’s why in this period of severe financial stressors, relationship upheavals and career constriction, now is the time to not only thank God for our blessings but to pay them forward, especially since Proverbs 11:25 tells us that “The generous will prosper; those that water others will themselves be watered.”
I am already hearing the moanings and groanings, along with the whinings about how the new year has started. Seems as though some of our situations are pretty much the same as they were in 2014 no matter how much we dreamed and ‘resoluted’.
Unfortunately there is still a pretty long way to go before getting to 2016 so let’s take a step back and really look at what we have vs. what we do not think we have. Let’s plan a different approach to actively changing our circumstances and update our strategic life game. And let’s ask God to show us the right way so we can better work on being prepared to receive our increase … because it IS coming.
Check out this word from TheAnima Series if you don’t believe me 🙂
“And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” Matthew 21:22
Found the page above which was taken from my devotional for August 8 to be a good example of prayer vs. faith … but what do you think? Do you agree with this thought? Or would you have used something different?
And then there’s this post I came across recently entitled “The Bible isn’t like a menu at a restaurant. It’s all or nothing.” on The Living To Please God blog … hmmmm; makes for interesting reading for sure. Here’s a short excerpt:
“We weren’t given the gift of the Bible to pluck sections out of it that work for us and dismiss the rest as fantasy. If you believe, you believe. All or nothing.” Click to read more …
What’s your take? Would love to hear your views on prayer and faith, but until then, let’s be encouraged as we remember Jesus’ words in Luke 7:50 – “And he said to the woman, Your faith has saved you; go in peace” 🙂
