As we move out into the Lenten ‘dessert’ it seems as though the more we pray and fast, the more life attacks us. That’s because the devil knows this is a time of heightened spiritual activity which brings us (hopefully) even closer to God, his biggest enemy. Interestingly enough, the article on the homepage was exactly what I had been talking about recently to a friend. Our conversation concerned a Christian man who had had an affair with a Christian woman and was divorcing his wife (also a Christian) of 30 odd years. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. For 40 days many Christians will more than likely pray, fast and/or give up something they think they can’t live without. Things like chocolate, alcohol, potato chips, sex, TV or Coca Cola top some lists, but I feel if you only have a coke (or sex) three times a month it doesn’t really make sense fasting … just saying.
